Be A Drop

Some of the people at basketball camp this week are long-time believers in Christ. They seem to have things pretty well figured out. Others are searching for answers, and maybe spending time with this group will help them find those answers.

We all can have an impact on others with the way we talk, the way we act and the way we demonstrate the grace given to us by Christ.

Recently a friend shared an analogy with me. I'd give him credit, but he told me that someone else shared it with him. I'll try to share it the best I can recall it.

Picture another person's life as an empty cup. Each time we have an encounter with that person, we are adding a drop of water to their cup. We might only give that person one drop. In other cases, we have the opportunity to contribute many drops of water. We don't know if we're the first drops, some middle drops or the last drops that will cause them to overflow. When that overflow happens is the time when Christ allows them to understand His sacrifice and His plan for their lives.

What if that person is nearing the final seconds of their life? What if that person needed one more drop to overflow? What if you decided not to be a drop that day?

None of us know when we're going to die; none of knows when the last drops of water will pour into our cups. I want to encourage you to be drops of water to those around you. You never know when you will get a chance to see someone's cup overflow.
